Allegations have now surfaced against Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rafiur Rahman for threatening another journalist with enforced disappearance in Roumari upazila of Kurigram. Fearing for his life and abduction, victimized journalist Sakhawat Hossain submitted an application for a General Diary (GD) at Roumari Police Station. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Roumari Police Station acknowledged receiving the GD application but stated that it had not been officially recorded as of 8:30 PM on September 4, 2026. Sakhawat Hossain serves as the Roumari upazila representative for the Daily Kalbela. Recently, he published multiple investigative reports detailing various irregularities and corruption involving AC Land Rafiur Rahman. The journalist alleged that the aggrieved AC Land issued the disappearance threat in retaliation to these reports. Previously, the same official conducted a fake narcotics raid to harass another journalist.
