In Bhederganj, Shariatpur, a journalist was assaulted while recording video of fuel being illegally sold in drums at a local filling station. The incident occurred on April 18, 2026, at M/S Faria Filling Station. Jahid Hasan Tipu, the Bhederganj correspondent for Daily Inqilab, was attacked while documenting the irregularities. Another journalist, Ashikur Rahman Hridoy of Daily Samakal, was also harassed and physically assaulted when he attempted to rescue his colleague from the attackers.
