An allegation of assault has been raised against local thugs targeting three journalists who were assisting in clearing a traffic jam while on their way to gather news in Sadar Dakshin Upazila of Comilla. The incident took place on the afternoon of August 26, 2026, in the Mistripukur Par area of Uttar Rampur in the upazila. The victimized journalists are Jamuna Television Staff Reporter and Comilla Press Club Executive Member Rofiqul Islam Chowdhury Khokon, Independent Television Comilla Representative Tanveer Deepu, and Star News Comilla Bureau Reporter Abdullah Al Maroof.
