Three journalists were injured during an attack on the convoy of Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abdullah Al Farooq in the Chakaria-Pekua (Cox’s Bazar-1) constituency. The incident occurred on February 12, 2026, in front of the Ar-Rayed Madrasa in Ward 1 of Chakaria Municipality. The injured journalists are Bashir Al Mamun (Daily Asian Age), SM Ruhul Kader (Daily Destiny), and Mohammad Kafil Uddin (Daily Nirapeksha). The victims stated that they were attacked while recording video footage of the assault on the convoy. One of the journalists sustained a severe head injury that required stitches.
