At least ten journalists were injured in a brutal attack by local terrorists in Panchdona, Narsingdi, after refusing to pay extortion money. The incident occurred on January 26, 2026, around 6:15 PM in front of Dream Holiday Park on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway. The victims are crime reporters from various Dhaka-based media outlets and members of the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB).
The injured include Faiyaz Ahmed (Banglavision), Mohsin Kabir (GTV), Shahed Ahmed (Khabor Songjog), Shakhawat Kawsar and CRAB staff member Lal Mia, among others. They were returning to Dhaka after a family day event when local goons demanded extortion money near their vehicle. When they protested, the terrorists attacked them and their families. Five of the critically injured have been moved to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
