The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) threatened to cancel the accreditation of Daily Sun photojournalist Tanvin Tamim via email for taking photos in the President’s Box on February 6, 2026. Along with the threat, the BCB instructed him to refrain from taking such photos in the future. In protest against this aggressive stance, sports journalists decided to boycott the final match of the ‘Odommo Cup’ on February 9, 2026. Before the match, the journalists held a brief meeting and staged a protest on the press box roof with a banner to condemn the BCB’s actions.
