In Lakshmipur, Ahadul Islam Akash, a camera person for Somoy Television, was brutally assaulted and his professional equipment was destroyed while documenting irregularities at a local fuel station. The incident took place around 9:30 PM on March 26, 2026, at the Dharitri Filling Station in the BISIC Industrial area. While Akash was recording footage of illegal fuel sales and the resulting public disputes, the station staff launched a violent attack on him. During the assault, the attackers not only caused him severe physical injury but also smashed his professional camera and the Somoy TV microphone (boom).
