In two separate incidents at Dhaka University, six journalists were reportedly harassed and obstructed by activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD). The events unfolded on April 22, 2026. In the first instance, Iftekhar Sohan Sifat of Prime Bangladesh, Asaduzzaman Khan of Manab Zamin and Harun Islam of Naya Diganta were harassed while performing their professional duties in front of Bijoy Ekattor Hall. Simultaneously, at Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall, three other journalists, including the DU correspondent for the Daily Observer, faced similar obstruction and harassment while attempting to collect news.
