A group of 50–60 assailants launched a sudden attack on the home of Iqbal Hossain Talukdar, Staff Reporter for the Daily Hobiganj Somoy and a member of the Nabiganj Press Club, in Purbo Timurpur, Nabiganj Municipality, on the afternoon of November 24, 2025. Three people, including Iqbal, were injured in the attack. The Bangladesh Media Monitor (BMM) expressed deep concern over this serious incident involving vandalism, looting, and physical assault, identifying the attack as a threat to journalist safety, and called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and assurance of legal action.
