A case has been filed against Robiul Hasan, the Lalmonirhat District Correspondent for NEWS24 Television, following his coverage and broadcast of a road blockade and demonstration demanding electricity supply in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat. It is reported that Rezwan Hossain, an engineer at the Barkhata NESCO Division, lodged the lawsuit. Journalist Robiul has been named as the primary accused (Accused No. 1) in this case. The matter of the lawsuit against journalist Robiul came to light on the afternoon of August 23, 2026, when the investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) Ruhul Amin, visited the locality for accused identification.
