Allegations of attacking and threatening lawsuits against a journalist over news publication have been raised against Mamun Shikdar, director of ‘Kolapata Burger’ in Sonargaon. In connection with this incident, Zohirul Islam Siraj, the Sonargaon correspondent for The Daily New Nation, lodged a General Diary (GD) at Sonargaon Police Station seeking protection. It is learned that the threat incident occurred on August 30, 2026. Zohirul also stated that the threats were delivered over a phone call.
