In a brazen act of violence, a group of miscreants stormed the Khulna Press Club and assaulted senior journalists on the evening of April 26, 2026. The attack took place around 6:00 PM during the campaign activities for the upcoming Press Club election, scheduled for April 30. The attackers reportedly entered the premises shouting verbal abuse and were searching for presidential candidate Mostafa Sarwar. Upon failing to locate him, they turned their aggression toward the general secretary candidate and Ekhon Tv Special Correspondent, Md. Tarikul Islam, physically assaulting him.
