Activists of Jubo Dal attacked Samiul Monir, the President of Shyamnagar Press Club, inside the club premises in Satkhira. The incident took place around 12:00 PM on March 2, 2026, at the press club building near the Upazila Parishad. Witnesses reported that the attackers physically assaulted Monir and dragged him outside while beating him. Samiul Monir serves as the Shyamnagar Upazila correspondent for Dainik Samakal and Dainik Patradoot. Upon receiving the news, Shyamnagar police rescued him and admitted him to a hospital. Around 25-30 activists, including Jubo Dal member secretary Angur, Bablu, Mizan, and Motleb, were allegedly involved in the unprovoked attack. Other journalists present were also harassed and shoved during the incident.
