An incident of attack on a journalist’s house occurred in Tongi, Gazipur, for resisting a mugging attempt. The victimized journalist, Shafiqul Islam Shimul, works as the Tongi correspondent for Dhaka Today and the Daily Khobor Songjog. The attack took place on the morning of September 20, 2026. Police have arrested one person involved in the incident.
