Journalists were barred from entering a Dhaka court during the remand hearing of Major (Retd.) Akhtaruzzaman. On October 3, 2026, police officers on duty stopped journalists as they attempted to enter the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Al Biruni Meer. However, state defense lawyers denied allegations that the prosecution department barred journalists from entering. Present journalists reported that when Akhtaruzzaman was produced in court around 12:45 PM, DC Mohiuddin Mahmud Sohel arrived, removed the journalists, and barred their entry.
