RTV Malaysia correspondent SA Sourav was threatened over the phone for omitting the title “Engineer” and for failing to mention “President” before the name of Malaysia BNP President Badlur Rahman Khan. In addition to the threats, he was pressured to tender an apology. On September 8, 2026, these threats were issued through multiple phone calls from a Robi number with the last four digits 1691, registered under the name Israfil Atik. When contacted regarding the matter, Israfil refused to answer the calls and declined to speak. He directed the reporter to speak with RTV Vice Chairman and business leader Jashim Uddin. In the audio recording of the threat obtained, the individual named Israfil was repeatedly utilizing the name of RTV’s Vice Chairman. Upon contacting RTV concerning this issue, the channel authorities stated that they were unaware of any such matter.
