Rashidul Islam Fakir, the Panel Chairman of Nikrail Union Parishad in Bhuanpur, Tangail, has filed a case against Atif Russell (Md. Russell Mia), the local correspondent for the news portal Bangla Edition. The case was filed on March 13, 2026, following a report published by Russell alleging irregularities and the distribution of fewer VGF rice sacks in the union. The Panel Chairman labeled the investigative report as “propaganda” and lodged the complaint at the Bhuanpur Police Station to initiate legal action against the journalist.
