In Charghat, Rajshahi, miscreants brutally assaulted a journalist and threatened to “cut off his hands” following the publication of a report on illegal soil theft. The victim, Shahinur Rahman Sujan, a local correspondent for Dainik Dinkal, filed a written complaint naming four individuals. The attack occurred on the night of April 1, 2026, near the Shaheed Minar area of the upazila headquarters. The accused include Alamgir Hossain (President of Ward 7 BNP, Charghat Municipality), General Secretary Monirul Islam Moni, Hridoy Islam, Ashik Islam, and Md. Rocky.
