Islamic speaker Dr. Sayyed Muhammad Enayetullah Abbasi commented on journalists, describing them as the “worst” and stating that “they deserve to be beaten like dogs.” He made these remarks as the chief speaker at the annual Waz and Dua Mahfil of Nishchintapur Hafijia Madrasa in Matlab North upazila of Chandpur on the night of October 19, 2026. While criticizing journalists for not broadcasting the positive aspects of former State Minister Ishraque Hossain’s anti-narcotics drive, the Islamic speaker issued this call to physically assault journalists and made threatening remarks against them.
