Abbas Hossain, Staff Reporter for Independent Television, has received death threats, including being shot, from miscreants in Lakshmipur. On the evening of Monday, November 10, 2025, several unknown individuals called Abbas Hossain’s mobile number and threatened to shoot and kill him and his family members. Later that night, he personally filed a General Diary (GD) at the Sadar Police Station. Abbas Hossain also serves as the Publisher and Editor of the local daily newspaper Meghnar Teer and as the District Correspondent for Ajker Patrika.
