An anonymous letter containing threats to stop writing and face death was sent to an expatriate journalist in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia. After finding the letter under the gate of his house in Hirimdia village on the morning of August 26, 2026, journalist Hasan Imam Rubel lodged a General Diary (GD) at Bheramara Police Station. Hasan Imam Rubel has worked for various media outlets, including the Daily Prothom Alo and the private television station Channel 24. Currently, he resides in England with his family. Hasan recently arrived at his village home for a vacation with his family after a long time.
