Golam Kibria, a multimedia reporter for Desher Kantho, was also attacked while reporting on ticket price hikes at Dhaka’s Sayedabad Bus Terminal. A colleague of Kibria confirmed the incident to Bangladesh Media Monitor. Due to severe injuries to his nose and mouth, Kibria is currently unable to speak. The assault occurred around 5:45 PM on March 19, 2026. At least two other journalists were also targeted in the same area during the incident.
