Dewan Emon, Savar Correspondent for Desh TV and his cameraman Jahidul Islam Khan were attacked while collecting information about corruption at the Savar Alamnagar Settlement Office. The attack occurred around 1:30 PM on December 8, 2025. The incident took place when journalists sought a statement from the office’s Peshkar, Md. Shafiq, at which point a syndicate of brokers inside the office premises suddenly swooped on the reporters. The assailants formed a mob and launched a sudden attack on the journalists, allegedly instigated by Deputy Assistant Settlement Officer Md. Saiful Islam. Correspondent Dewan Emon was physically harassed. At the same time, attempts were made to snatch and vandalize cameraman Jahidul Islam’s camera.
