On April 28, 2026, Motahar Hossain Alamgir Malatia, an expelled former General Secretary of the BNP, filed a case under the Cyber Security Act in Char Fasson, Bhola, against a BNP leader and seven journalists from the Char Fasson Press Club. The accused journalists include Zulfikar Mahamud Niaz (President), Kamal Goldar (General Secretary), Jamal Molla and Noman Sikdar (Joint General Secretaries), Saiful Islam Mukul (Publicity and Publication Secretary), Abu Siddique (Executive Member), and Aminul Islam (Member), along with former BNP organizing secretary Kazi Monzur Hossain.
