An incident of assault on three journalists took place inside the Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner’s office premises. The incident occurred around 10:00 AM on August 25, 2026, in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The victimized journalists are Bidhan Majumder Oni, representative for News 24 Television, Jago News and Daily Khaborer Kagoj, Jahid Hasan Roni, Shariatpur and Madaripur correspondent for The Daily Star and Barkat Ullah, Shariatpur representative for Daily Edin. Several individuals, led by District Sechchasebak Dal President Aminur Rahman Aman and former District Jubo Dal President Arifuzzaman Mulla, physically assaulted them.
