In Bagerhat, a journalist was hacked to death by miscreants. The incident occurred on the evening of October 3, 2025, in the Harikhali area of Bagerhat town. The victim, A.S.M. Hayat Uddin, was a staff reporter for the daily Bhorer Chetona. Recently, he contested for the post of organizational secretary in the Bagerhat municipal BNP conference but was defeated. Previously, he had served as a member of the convening committee of the municipal BNP.
