Karnaphuli Ship Builders industrial group has filed a lawsuit against Sohagh Kumar Bishwas, Chittagong Bureau Chief of Amar Desh newspaper, and Staff Reporter M K Monir. The case was filed on November 17, 2025, at the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Sixth Court. The industrial group claimed a defamation of Taka one hundred crore (BDT 100 crore) for a report published in Amar Desh on November 14, titled ‘Chittagong City Corporation plans to demolish 15 buildings, locals angered.’
