Dainik Naya Diganta is a national daily newspaper published by Diganta Media Corporation Limited in 2004. The founding chairman of this newspaper was Mir Quasem Ali, who was a central executive council member and an important financier of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, one of the main political parties in Bangladesh. Because of this specific political identity of Mir Quasem Ali, the newspaper became known from its inception as a media outlet affiliated with the Jamaat ideology. Consequently, Naya Diganta generally prioritizes the news and views of Jamaat-e-Islami and its alliance. Its current publisher is Shamsul Huda, FCA, and its current Acting Editor is Salah Uddin Babar. Despite facing financial and administrative challenges due to this strong political ideology, Naya Diganta maintained its position as a daily newspaper with a significant circulation in the country during the last government’s tenure.
