Shahadat Hossain Kifat, a multimedia reporter for the online news portal banglanews24.com, faced verbal harassment, obstruction, and physical intimidation while covering the ongoing student protests at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The incident took place at the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) office late at night on October 21, 2025. During the incident, he was reportedly told to leave the premises, and several individuals were seen pushing and shoving him to make him delete his live broadcast. Consequently, he was forced to stop his live news coverage.
