A local BNP leader has been accused of attacking SM Mizan, the Gouranadi Upazila correspondent of Bangladesher Khobor, allegedly in retaliation for publishing a news report about trees being illegally cut from government land under the cover of night. The incident took place in the Torki area on the night of October 2, 2025.
