On May 21, 2014, Sadarul Nipul, a journalist for the Chuadanga-based daily Mathabhanga, was murdered after publishing reports on local drug dealers. Railway police recovered his mutilated body in pieces from the railway tracks near Mominpur Railway Station in Sadar upazila.
