After securing bail in a case involving assault, vandalism and intimidation, film actress Pori Moni and her security personnel physically and verbally harassed journalists. The incident took place on November 5, 2026, on the premises of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Dhaka. Ashikuzzaman, a staff reporter for Jago News and Abdullah Al Kawsar, a multimedia reporter, were injured after being pushed and beaten by security guards while trying to collect news. Ashikuzzaman sustained injuries to his back, while Kawsar was hurt on his shoulder and arm. It was also alleged that Ashikuzzaman’s mobile phone was snatched. Additionally, Rabiul Hossain, a reporter for Samakal, alleged that Pori Moni herself snatched his mobile phone. Meanwhile, Siam Hossain, a reporter for Agamir Somoy, complained that Pori Moni scratched his hand. Furthermore, a video shows Prothom Alo reporter Imran Hossain being prevented from taking footage and being pushed. The video also shows Pori Moni hurling ‘abusive language’ (slangs) at journalists.
