District Media Observer, Savar: An attack was carried out on News 24 reporter Nazmul Huda and camera person Emdadul Haq while broadcasting live regarding labor unrest in Hemayetpur. According to the injured journalist, at least 15 to 20 masked men participated in this attack. The incident took place around 12:00 PM on November 4, 2026, in Hemayetpur of the upazila.
Victim Nazmul Huda told Bangladesh Media Monitor, “I was doing a live broadcast. At that time, 15-20 masked men attacked us. They vandalized the camera. They beat us using rods, SS pipes, sticks and by throwing bricks. Due to this, I sustained injuries on my chest, back, hands and legs. At that time, they also attacked my cameraman Emdad Mahmud and vandalized the camera. Both of us are going to a hospital in Dhaka for medical treatment.”
Earlier, three media workers were also attacked and beaten while performing their professional duties in the same area.
