Journalist Lutfuzzaman Alif Fakir was shot dead by miscreants in Durgapur, Netrokona. The incident occurred on October 15, 2026, around 8:15 PM at Utrail Bazar on the Shyamganj-Birishiri road in the municipality. The deceased, Lutfuzzaman Alif Fakir, was working as the Netrokona correspondent for the IP TV station Ruposhi Bangla. The Netrokona District Media Observer (DMO) of Bangladesh Media Monitor confirmed the incident, adding that Lutfuzzaman Alif had also been attacked by miscreants on November 10 last year at noon in the Teribazar Ghat area of the Someshwari River. On that occasion, he was hacked and injured.
