A two-day ban has been imposed on the entry of journalists into Balaka, the headquarters of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Since the morning of October 6, 2026, security personnel have been turning away journalists who went there to collect information. Biman Public Relations Officer Mohiuddin Ahmed stated that the entry ban on journalists was issued directly on the instructions of Managing Director (MD) Kaizar Shahel Ahmed. Several journalists who went to the Balaka gate since morning reported that when they sought to enter to collect information, security personnel informed them that they did not have permission to enter. Consequently, they had to return without meeting the concerned officials. The incident was also confirmed to Bangladesh Media Monitor by multiple journalists.
