The parent organization has shut down the office and funding of Nagorik Protidin, a newspaper operated under the financial backing of Meghna Group. Prior to the shutdown on August 31, 2026, the management failed to clear the dues of over fifty employees. When contacted regarding the matter, the Acting Editor of the newspaper, Mostafizur Rahman Tito, stated that despite the closure of the office and funding, the publication license remains under his name, which Meghna Group cannot revoke even if they wish. On the other hand, Meghna Group announced that all operations of Nagorik Protidin would cease starting August 31. The group cited an evaluation of the overall financial, administrative, and operational situations of the institution as the reason behind the decision to suspend operations.
