Leaders and activists of the BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal laid siege to the Lalpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) office in Natore over allegations of irregularities in recruiting family card data collectors. Multiple journalists performing their professional duties were attacked and beaten during the incident. This unpleasant event occurred on an afternoon in 12 Agust, 2026. When journalists on duty attempted to capture video documentation of the protest, the demonstrators turned hostile and attacked them. Sojibul Islam, representative for NTV Online, and Rashidul Islam, representative for Manab Zamin, were assaulted. The attackers snatched the mobile phones used by the journalists and forcibly deleted the recorded videos and photos.
