Journalist Threaten by Political Activist over News Deletion in Chittagong

An investigative journalist was publicly harassed, verbally abused, and threatened with bodily harm by a local political figure demanding the immediate deletion of a published news report. The confrontation broke out after the journalist exposed the unauthorized and irregular reopening of a previously sealed local clinic. The political activist physically accosted the reporter, pulling him by the collar, and repeatedly used aggressive regional dialect to intimidate him, shouting, “I will violently slam you to the ground… delete it right now!” The perpetrator also aggressively interrogated the media professional to extract the identities of his internal sources while threatening to destroy his recording equipment. Following the public assault, the distressed journalist sought administrative intervention to ensure his personal safety.
