The ancestral home of Shipon Uddin, the Keraniganj upazila correspondent for the national daily Daily Janakantha and the news portal RisingBD, was violently stormed by a group of local thugs. The brutal home invasion occurred on the morning of June 12, 2026, in the Talepur area of Kalatia Union. The attackers breached the domestic perimeter, ransacked the property, and launched a coordinated physical assault that left journalist Shipon Uddin, his elderly mother, and his sister severely injured. Following the targeted domestic raid, Uddin lodged a formal written complaint with the Keraniganj Model Police Station.
