The Manirampur-Keshabpur correspondent for NTV Online was physically assaulted while covering an institutional election in Jashore. The incident took place on the morning of June 28, 2026, within the premises of Chingra Dharmapur Darus Sunnah Alim Madrasah in Keshabpur Upazila. The journalist was targeted while gathering news and documentation regarding the highly contested formation of the madrasah’s governing committee. In addition to the physical assault, the attackers intentionally snatched and smashed the reporter’s smartphone to prevent any visual or audio evidence from being recorded.
