On June 8, 2026, Danisur Rahman (Limon), the Bakerganj Upazila Correspondent for Daily Amar Desh, was arrested and jailed after being abducted and tortured. The incident began around 10:00 PM on June 7, when Limon was lured into a house in Hiradhar village by two local individuals under the pretext of having tea. He was forcibly confined for nearly 12 hours and physically abused over fabricated misconduct allegations. Although law enforcement was notified during his confinement, rescue efforts were delayed. Upon recovering him the next day, Bakerganj police officially arrested Limon in a molestation case filed by his captors. Officer-in-Charge Adilur Rahman confirmed that the journalist was forwarded to jail via court order on June 8.
