Mahfuzur Rahman Shishir, a reporter for the national daily Daily Sokaler, was brutally attacked in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi 32 area. The incident occurred on the morning of June 23, 2026, right after a demonstration march organized by the Dhanmondi Zone of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dhaka Metropolitan South. Shishir was singled out and severely beaten by a group of rally participants, leaving him with critical injuries to his face.
