The Bogura Detective Branch (DB) police arrested Rezanur Islam, the Acting Editor of the national daily Daily Agrajatra Pratidin. The midnight arrest took place on June 18, 2026, in the Board Bazar area of Gazipur. Islam was arrested in connection with a criminal defamation case filed recently over a report exposing alleged irregularities involving Mir Shahe Alam, the Minister of State for Local Government, Rural Development, and Co-operatives. Following his arrest, the 40-year-old editor was brought to Bogura and sent to district jail via court orders on Friday.
