A formal legal notice has been served to the editor and a reporter of the multimedia news portal Asia Post. The notice was sent on May 23, 2026, on behalf of Masud Sayedee, the Member of Parliament for the Pirojpur-1 constituency and Chairman of Istanbul Hotel and Resort Limited, through Supreme Court Advocate Tanveer Ahmed Al Amin. The legal notice names Asia Post Editor and Publisher Palash Mahmud and Reporter Zakaria Noori, demanding an unconditional apology and the retraction of two published reports within seven days. Failure to comply will result in a defamation lawsuit seeking 1,000 crore BDT in damages.
