Two journalists from the private channel Desh TV were severely injured while investigating illicit activities in Savar. The incident occurred on May 22, 2026, in the Aicha Noadda area. The victims, reporter Taifur Rahman Tuhin and cameraman Monirul Haque Kaiyum, were ambushed by drug traffickers while attempting to gather footage and information regarding local narcotics syndicates. With the timely intervention and assistance of the police, both media professionals were rescued from the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
