Amanullah Aman, the Khetlal upazila correspondent of Daily Kalbela, was reportedly attacked and beaten by Siddiqur Rahman, the General Secretary of the Upazila BNP, and 10–12 followers on April 28, 2026. The incident occurred inside the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s (UNO) office in Joypurhat during a meeting regarding media advertisements.The victim alleged that the attack was retaliation for a recent report he published concerning Siddiqur Rahman’s illegal sale of soil and sand from a leased government pond.
