Three journalists were locked inside the Nabinagar Upazila Land Office in Brahmanbaria after questioning officials about alleged bribery. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on April 16, 2026. The victims, Pial Hasan Riaz of Bangla TV, Mominul Haque Rubel of Green TV, and Md. Oliullah of Dainik Bangladesher Alo were reportedly besieged and locked in by an office staff member named Shamsuddoha. The journalists were held captive for about an hour until they were eventually released following the direct intervention of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), who was notified of the situation.
