Two journalists were brutally beaten with iron rods by activists of the Kabi Nazrul College Chatra Dal (the student wing of the BNP) while performing their professional duties. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 15, 2026, in front of the college’s main gate during a violent clash between two rival factions of the organization. The victims have been identified as Biplob Sheikh, a correspondent for The Daily Campus and Office Secretary of the Kabi Nazrul College Journalists’ Association and Obaidul Haque, a correspondent for Sonali News. Both journalists were rescued by colleagues and rushed to Dhaka National Medical College Hospital for treatment.
