Two journalists were injured in an attack by bus counter staff while reporting on extra fare charging at Dhaka’s Sayedabad Bus Terminal. On the afternoon of March 19, 2026, Fahim Muntasir of Deshkal News was assaulted while interviewing passengers. Even after the transport owners’ association leaders arrived, they reportedly behaved offensively toward him. Journalists alleged that the police remained indifferent despite being informed of the situation. Later, as more media personnel arrived, an altercation broke out and Banglanews24 multimedia reporter Azbar Raj was physically assaulted. Both journalists received primary treatment at Mugda Medical College Hospital and were later released.
