Hasan Al Sakib, a reporter for SA TV, has received death threats and threats of “enforced disappearance” following his reports on the corruption and irregularities of Bachhu Mia, an Executive Engineer at LGED Dhaka. On March 5, 2026, an individual named Golam Mostafa, identifying himself as Bachhu’s elder brother and a former LGED official, issued these threats. Mostafa also tried to pressure Sakib into a “compromise.” Earlier, Sakib confirmed that Bachhu Mia had also attempted to call him several times, but he did not respond. Sakib has filed a General Diary (GD) with Mirpur Model Police Station regarding these threats. Notably, on October 8 of the previous year, Sakib was attacked by Ansar members while attempting to gather information on Bachhu’s activities.’
